Research on attention, restorative breaks, and time management.

Math-learning scores with and without a five-minute rest Students taking no break averaged 7.58 correct answers out of 20. Students taking a five-minute unstructured rest before the lesson averaged 10.58, approximately 40 percent more than the no-break group, calculated from the reported group means. Ginns et al., 2023: a randomized math-learning experiment, with 24 students in each displayed group. Curved lines are illustrative, not measured progress over time. Endpoints represent the final group averages on a zoomed 4–11 score scale, not a zero-based scale. Not a Fwocus result. Five-minute rest No break
Zoomed endpoint scale: 4–11 out of 20. Illustrative curves; average scores: 7.58 vs 10.58.
